MINISTER - Rev'd Dr Jennifer Walters

Mobile: 0782 444 0820
Minister to: Halstead, Maldon, Witham, South Woodham Ferrers & Hatfield Peverel.
I’ve spent most of the last 25 years as a secondary school science teacher, specialising in Physics, and I hold a PhD in the subject. In 2022, I was ordained in Canterbury Cathedral and have recently transferred my ordination to the Methodist Church.
Originally from Skegness, I’ve lived in Kent for many years, with time also spent in London and two enriching years in rural Tanzania with VSO as a volunteer teacher. I completed my initial theology training at Queen’s in Birmingham and am looking forward to reconnecting with theological study.
I’m passionate about taking the gospel beyond the church walls, meeting people where they are, and ministry with children and young people is especially close to my heart—particularly exploring their spirituality and sense of wonder.
SENIOR CIRCUIT STEWARD - Nigel Murrell
nigel.murrell@chelmsfordcircuit.org.uk

With more than 40 years of experience in City banking, my wife Karen and I began attending Trinity Methodist in 2015, which was our introduction to church activities. Since that time, I have served as Church Treasurer and have taken on roles at Trinity such as assisting with maintenance and supporting the property secretary. In my capacity as senior Circuit Steward, I chair monthly Circuit Leadership meetings, coordinate with other churches in the circuit, attend district Synod three times annually, assist with ministerial appointments, and participate in committees supporting our Ministers. I also pursue an interest in World War I history and volunteer each Friday as a guide at Stow Maries Aerodrome near Maldon.
